As you will be aware there has, for a number of years, been serious concerns in relation to the damage caused to the grass verges along the Wollaton Vale caused by inconsiderate parking by residents, contractors and visitors destroying what is undoubtably one of the most picturesque roads in the city.

The introduction of these measures does not consider those residents and visitors living on the Wollaton Vale in close proximity to the junctions, including those on the Bramcote side of the Vale, who constantly use the “east /west roads to park both for themselves and visitors. This new TRO will remove that option and therefore increase the damage caused by parking on the grass verges along the Vale.
Despite this constant damage being considered, on numerous occasions, by both Officers and Members, no action has yet to be taken by the Local Authority with the situation continuing to deteriorate sometimes as a direct result of decisions made by Local Authority departments.

Following our conversation relating to the above I am extremely concerned that although the local councillors are aware of the problem they wish this TRO to be introduced irrespective of its consequences, and that, despite being a problem for fifteen years, the implications related to the damage to the grass verge will not be considered until after the scheme has been introduced. (After 15years is this really an option) This appears to be another ill considered decision by the authority with little consideration for it’s effect on other areas and residents.

Whilst I appreciate the reasons for the introduction of a scheme. Under the circumstances please accept this as an objection to the scheme in it’s present form.
